[39] Many Samaritans from that town believed in Jesus because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.” [40] So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days.

...A Samaritan is a person belonging to the people originating from the region of Samaria, located between Judea and Galilee in ancient Israel. 📖

Historically, the Samaritans are the inhabitants of Samaria; a people whose origins lie in a mixture of Israelites and foreign populations following the Assyrian conquest in the 8th century BCE.

They developed their own religious tradition, similar to but distinct from Judaism.

In the biblical tradition, the Samaritans recognize the Law of Moses (the Pentateuch), worship God on Mount Gerizim, and consider themselves the true guardians of the Law of Moses.

However, there was strong rivalry with the Jews at the time of Jesus.

…To believe means to hold something to be true, to accept an idea or a statement as true, and to trust in a person or rely on their word. To place one's trust in God, to accept His word and rely on Him with faith.

…to address a request, a supplication, or a word to God or to a person with respect and faith. To intercede. To ask for, to seek God's help, to implore.

…to remain with someone, to stay in their presence and share time with them.

 🌸💥🌺 They asked you to stay with them because they know who you are. You are the bread of life, the savior, the ultimate teacher, peace, and joy.

You stayed with them for two days because they asked and welcomed you.

For us who have accepted you, you remain with us forever.

You continually impart your peace, your joy, and your teachings to us.

We don't even force you to stay with us; you yourself want it.

Having you in our lives, Lord, is a pure wonder.

Your glory over us fills us with joy. 🌸🌺💥

Grant us the grace to give you the place you deserve in our lives, in our hearts. ❤️‍🔥🌸🌺💥
