❤️‍🔥📖Luke 23:14-17, 22-25 (LSG)

[14] You brought this man to me as someone who was inciting the people to revolt. And behold, I examined him before you, and I found him not guilty of any of the things of which you accuse him; [15] neither did Herod, for he sent him back to us, and behold, this man has done nothing deserving of death. [16] I will therefore release him, after having him flogged. [17] Now at every festival he was obliged to release a prisoner to them.

[22] Pilate said to them the third time, “Why, what crime has he committed? I have found in him no grounds for the death penalty.” I will therefore release him, after having him flogged. [23] But they shouted loudly that he should be crucified. And their shouting prevailed: [24] Pilate pronounced that what they demanded should be done. [25] He released the man who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, whom they were demanding, and handed Jesus over to their will.

* *Death*: The irreversible cessation of vital functions.

* *Sedition*: A concerted uprising, riot, or revolt against an established authority.

* *To hand someone over*: The act of betraying them through formal legal proceedings.

To place them in a situation of extreme vulnerability.

💥O Lord, you suffered injustice for us.

They lied for you.

They made you guilty of things you did not do.

They gave you an identity you do not have.

You accepted all of this for us, out of love for us.

💥If we experience such things, we know that you have lived and that you will rise up to help us.
