...it designates an adherence so total that two distinct entities become one. It is vital attachment, like skin adhering to bones.

 💥🎊The pain of losing what is perishable, what does not satisfy (reputation, pleasure, power, the need for recognition...), this pain is selfish because it is turned inward.

We cannot be attached to worldly things and be attached to God.

Our heart can only be truly dedicated, attached to one single entity.

Attachment (adherence, surrender) to worldly things leads to loss.

The sadness that comes from attachment to worldly things, the sadness that comes from abandonment, the loss of a job, a loved one, or betrayal can create a separation from God, and that separation is death.

This world and everything that makes it what it is is not your life. God is your life.

🎊❤️‍🔥If our sadness comes from wanting to please God and not disappoint Him, salvation is our portion.

Yes, glorious eternal life is our portion.

God is the better part.
